Artichoke

We offer certified organic artichoke seed for green and purple varieties. Although artichokes are perennials, certain varieties can be grown as annuals, even in cold climates. Italian immigrants introduced artichokes to north coastal California in the early 1900s and the ideal growing conditions of the region caused the crop to take off. The small city of Castroville, California now claims the designation of “the Artichoke Center of the World”.
